Terms of Service

By accessing and using the University Portal, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service. Your continued use of the portal constitutes your acceptance of these terms.

Permission is granted to temporarily access the portal materials (information and software) for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title. Under this license you may not:

• Modify or copy the materials without authorization
• Use the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
• Attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notations
• Transfer the materials to another person or "mirror" the materials on another server
• Access through automated means without permission
• Disrupt the normal flow of dialogue within the portal

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information
• Maintain the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized account access
• Update your information to keep it current and accurate

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We are not responsible for unauthorized access if you fail to keep your credentials secure.

You agree not to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Post false, offensive, or misleading information
• Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Engage in phishing, spamming, or social engineering
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
• Impersonate university staff or other users

The portal and all content, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, are owned by or licensed to the University. All rights are reserved. You may not reproduce, distribute, or transmit any content without our prior written permission. Course materials, assignments, and grades are confidential and restricted to educational use only.

All users must maintain academic integrity by:

• Submitting original work and properly citing sources
• Not plagiarizing or copying others' work
• Not cheating on examinations or assessments
• Respecting intellectual property of instructional materials
• Following university academic policies and codes of conduct

Violations of academic integrity may result in disciplinary action as per university policies.

The university shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the portal, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, data, or business opportunities. The maximum liability is limited to the fees, if any, you paid to use the portal in the past 12 months.

The portal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the portal will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or harmful components. The university disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the portal if you:

• Violate these terms of service
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Harass or abuse other users
• Breach academic integrity policies
• Are no longer an authorized user of the institution

Termination may be without notice and without liability to you.

If you make payments through the portal:

• All fees must be paid in full as stated
• Payment information must be accurate and current
• The university reserves the right to refuse service
• Refunds are subject to university policies and procedures
• No refunds for services already rendered

We may revise these terms of service at any time without notice. By using the portal, you agree to be bound by any such revisions. If you disagree with any changes, you must stop using the portal. Continued use following the posting of revised terms means you accept and agree to the changes.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kano State for any disputes.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
